From the Ambassador
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the official portal of the Embassy of Morocco to the United States of America. It has been my privilege to serve as Moroccan Ambassador in the USA since June 2002. I am proud to continue in the long line of service since relations between our countries were established in 1787.

Morocco has the oldest treaty of friendship with the United States, and our two nations have stood side by side ever since my country became the first in the world to recognize the independence of the American colonies in 1777. Today we cooperate at several fronts. Morocco is the largest non-industrialized nation to have signed a Free Trade Agreement with the United States.

This website is first of all meant to serve those who are eager to become better acquainted with Moroccan history, our institutions and most importantly the current political, economic, cultural and social events taking place in the Kingdom.

I hope this website might stimulate Americans to visit my country or do business there. Morocco is one of the world's most intriguing countries, rich in history, architecture, scenery, and hospitality.

Our concern is also to facilitate the procedures for the Moroccan community living in the United States by providing them with useful information related to the formalities for their registration at the embassy, their marital status situation, the issuing of any document they might need such as extending or renewing their passports, etc.

We hope that this website becomes a place of dialogue for a better understanding between my people and the American people. This website is far from perfect. Your suggestions are very much welcomed.

Please contact us via this link. Thank you for visiting our website. Remember, you are always welcome to my country, the Kingdom of Morocco.
